Privacy Policy

Fate Labs OÜ ("Fate Labs," "we," "us," "our") operates The Numerologist mobile application and related services (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information.

Fate Labs OÜ is registered in the Republic of Estonia (registry code: 17194793). Our registered address is Harju maakond, Tallinn, Estonia.

1. What we collect

Information you provide

  • Account information: Email address, name, and authentication credentials (or third-party login tokens if you use Google or Apple sign-in).
  • Birth information: Full birth name, current name (if different), and date of birth. These are required for numerological calculations and are core to the Service.
  • Profile information: Display name, handle, gender identity (optional), profile photo (optional).
  • Friend connections: Information about friends you add, including manually entered names and birth dates for people not on the platform.
  • Signals: Numbers you log through the Signals feature, including timestamps.
  • Consult conversations: Questions you ask and responses generated through the Consult feature.
  • Purchases: Records of subscriptions, reports, and bundles you purchase (payment processing is handled by third-party providers; we do not store payment card details).

Information collected automatically

  • Device information: Device model, operating system version, app version.
  • Usage data: Which features you use, session duration, interaction patterns. This helps us improve the Service.
  • Crash and error data: Technical logs if the app encounters an error.

Information we do NOT collect

  • We do not collect precise GPS location.
  • We do not access your phone contacts unless you explicitly use the "Find friends from contacts" feature, and we do not store your full contact list — only matches with existing users are processed.
  • We do not sell your data. Ever.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Provide the Service: Calculate your numerological profile, generate readings, forecasts, compatibility analyses, and Consult responses.
  • Personalise your experience: Your birth data and name are used exclusively for numerological calculations. Your usage patterns help us surface relevant content.
  • Process purchases: Manage subscriptions, report purchases, and bundle credits.
  • Communicate with you: Send service-related emails (account verification, purchase receipts, critical updates). Marketing communications only if you opt in.
  • Improve the Service: Aggregate, anonymised usage data helps us understand which features are valuable and where to improve.
  • Ensure safety: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Community Guidelines.

We do NOT use your birth name, birth date, or numerological profile for advertising, profiling for third-party marketing, or any purpose outside the Service.

3. AI and data processing

The Consult feature uses third-party AI services (currently Mistral AI, Paris, France) to generate responses based on your numerological profile. When you use Consult:

  • Your chart data and question are sent to our AI provider to generate a response.
  • We do not use your Consult conversations to train AI models.
  • Our AI provider processes data under a data processing agreement that prohibits use of your data for their own training or purposes.

Signals synthesis uses similar AI processing when generating combined interpretations.

4. How we store and protect your data

  • Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure (Supabase / AWS) with encryption at rest and in transit.
  • Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis.
  • We use industry-standard security practices including TLS encryption, secure authentication, and regular security reviews.
  • We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently deleted within 30 days (see Section 7).

5. Who we share data with

We share data only with:

  • Infrastructure providers: Cloud hosting (Supabase / AWS), authentication services. These providers process data on our behalf under data processing agreements.
  • AI providers: For Consult and synthesis features (see Section 3).
  • Payment processors: App Store (Apple), Google Play, or other payment providers handle transactions. We receive purchase confirmations but not payment card details.
  • Legal requirements: If required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.

We do NOT sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for their own marketing purposes.

6. Your rights under GDPR

As we are based in the European Union (Estonia), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies. You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: Correct inaccurate personal data.
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Restriction: Request that we limit how we process your data.
  • Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at legal@fatelabs.io. We will respond within 30 days.

If you believe your rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon) or your local supervisory authority.

7. Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time through Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and includes:

  • Your profile and all personal information
  • Your numerological data and readings
  • Your friend connections
  • Your signal history
  • Your Consult conversation history
  • Your purchased reports

Account deletion is processed immediately upon confirmation. Residual data in backups is purged within 30 days. Active subscriptions are cancelled automatically upon account deletion.

8. Children

The Numerologist is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected data from a user under 16, we will delete the account and associated data promptly. If you believe a child under 16 is using the Service, please contact us at support@fatelabs.io.

9. International data transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or equivalent mechanisms.

10. Cookies and tracking

The Numerologist mobile app does not use cookies. We use minimal analytics to understand feature usage (see Section 2). We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
